The letter code IC is the abbreviation of the English term “International Cooling”. The motor cooling method code is mainly composed of the cooling method symbol (IC), the circuit arrangement code of the cooling medium, the code of the cooling medium, and the code of the driving method of the cooling medium movement. The first digit after the IC code is the circuit arrangement code of the cooling medium. The number 6 indicates that the motor is equipped with an external cooler and uses the medium in the surrounding environment. The primary cooling medium circulates in a closed loop and transfers the heat generated by the motor operation to the surrounding environment through the external cooler installed on the motor.
The motor of the integrated air-air cooler, with the cooling medium being air, is denoted as A. The description of the code is omitted. The two cooling methods, IC611 and IC616, both use air as the medium. The second and third digits in the code represent the driving methods of the primary and secondary cooling media, respectively. Specifically: The digit “1″ indicates that during the self-circulation process at the medium’s location, the movement of the cooling medium is related to the motor’s rotational speed, or it can be due to the action of the rotor itself, or it can be caused by the action of the overall fan or pump that is dragged by the rotor, thereby promoting the movement of the medium. The digit “6″ indicates that the medium requires an externally installed independent component to drive, and this component is driven by an independent component installed on the motor, and the power required by this component is independent of the main machine’s rotational speed, such as backpack fans or fans, etc.
From the perspective of the motor’s appearance, the non-shaft extension end of the IC611 motor is equipped with an independent fan that rotates simultaneously with the motor rotor, and together with the radiator installed at the top of the motor, they form the motor’s cooling system. No separate fan is required. For the IC616 cooling method motor, the cooler is equipped with an independent operating fan. During motor operation, it requires independent power supply and works simultaneously with the motor. The cooling effect of this cooler is independent of the motor’s speed. For variable frequency motors, the cooler must be configured according to the IC616 standard. For constant frequency motors, it can be selected based on actual needs.
